Description:
The Bidder, or its sub-contractors, shall be classified by the State of New Jersey – Division of Property Management and Construction in one of the following classifications:

C060 Athletic Fields/Tracks/Courts

1.4 WORK OF THE CONTRACT
A. The Work as defined by the General and Supplementary Conditions, the extent of which is covered in the Contract Documents and is described herewith (briefly) and without force of effect upon the Contract Documents.
B. BASE BID SCOPE OF WORK – TENNIS COURT CONSTRUCTION.  The scope of this project includes the construction of six (6) regulation post-tensioned concrete tennis courts, but is not limited to, the following:
1. CONTRACT NO. 1 – TENNIS COURT CONSTRUCTION:  General Coordination responsibilities including the following:
a. Coordination of the work with the Owner, Engineer and Architect.
b. The Contractor shall be responsible for the complete preparation of the existing site, including but not limited to:
1) Site preparation, including scarification, grading and general site preparation necessary for the complete construction of the proposed tennis courts.
2) Modifications to the surrounding site to accommodate the new grades proposed.
3) Clearing and stock-piling / removal of excess fill, topsoil and debris. 
4) Removal, capping and termination of utilities noted and impacted by the scope of the work including any irrigation systems.
5) Grading and compaction of the existing sub-base, including sub-grade work, soil stabilization and rock excavation as required.
6) Supply and installation of the new subsurface drainage facilities, inlets and manholes.
7) All indicated and required sediment/erosion control measures.
8) Preservation and reconstruction of existing site improvements noted. 
9) Cleaning and site restoration as required to restore existing conditions to their pre-contract state, including all staging areas and improvements impacted by the scope of this contract.  The scope of the work shall include restoration and repair of asphalt paving and concrete curb and sidewalks damaged as a result of the work of this contract.
10) Construction of post-tensioned concrete tennis courts, to include:
a) Form work will be installed around the entire perimeter of the prepared base.
b) Two layers of poly will be installed over the existing asphalt / prepared base material.  The first layer will run in the north-south direction and the second layer will run in east west direction. All joints will be taped. 
c) Post-tensioning cables will be installed according to the engineered design. Cables to be 7 strand, ½” sheathed and greased cables, commercial grade with 50 mil plastic sheathing. 
d) Double-fiberglass rebar will be installed on both sides of the anchors as shown on drawings to act as back up bars. 
e) A 4.5” thick, 3000 psi concrete slab will be placed inside the formwork. Concrete mix will be a specially designed mix used for post tension slabs.
f) Forms will be stripped, and the post-tensioning cables will be stressed according to their specifications. 
g) Testing for flatness.  Any low spots exceeding 1/8” in ten feet in any direction must be corrected, via grinding / filling with 5000 psi epoxy concrete and brought to the proper elevation.
h) Prime coating, finishing and lining of the concrete surface, and the supply and installation of removable tennis court posts, nets and center straps.
i) Supply and installation of perimeter fence and concrete perimeter curb.

C. ALTERNATE BID SCOPE OF WORK – EXISTING TENNIS COURT DEMOLITION AND RESTORATION.  The scope of this project includes the demolition of six (6) asphalt tennis courts and restoration of the surrounding grounds, but is not limited to, the following; the full extent and limit of Alternate No. 1 is depicted within the Contract Documents, including Drawing 4 of 7 as prepared by CME Associates:
1. CONTRACT NO. 1 – TENNIS COURT CONSTRUCTION:  General Coordination responsibilities including the following:
a. Coordination of the work with the Owner, Engineer and Architect.
b. The Contractor shall be responsible for the complete preparation of the existing site, including but not limited to:
1) Demolition of the existing tennis courts, fencing, tennis court standards, underground drainage structures, adjacent sidewalks and improvements necessary for the complete construction of the proposed tennis courts.
2) Modifications to the surrounding site to accommodate the new grades proposed.
3) Clearing and stock-piling / removal of excess fill, topsoil and debris. 
4) Removal, capping and termination of utilities noted and impacted by the scope of the work including any irrigations systems.
5) Grading and compaction of the existing sub-base, including sub-grade work, soil stabilization and rock excavation as required.
6) Reclamation of the existing asphalt surfaces.
7) Supply and installation of the new subsurface drainage facilities, inlets and manholes.
8) All indicated and required sediment/erosion control measures.
9) Preservation and reconstruction of existing site improvements noted. 
10) Cleaning and site restoration as required to restore existing conditions to their pre-contract state, including all staging areas and improvements impacted by the scope of this contract.  The scope of the work shall include restoration and repair of asphalt paving and concrete curb and sidewalks damaged as a result of the work of this contract.

D. RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE OWNER:
1. Removal of all furnishings or loose equipment as required to accommodate the scope of this contract prior to the start of work and subsequent reinstallation of furnishings after final completion.
2. Access to standard single phase electrical service for light power equipment and tools required to perform the work.  The contractor shall be responsible for the supply of temporary generators for three phase electrical service when and if required.
3. Independent third-party concrete testing.
4. Provisions for access to the work area.
1.5 TYPE OF CONTRACT
A. Project will be constructed under one (1) lump sum bid for all the Work required to complete the project in its entirety. 
1.6 WORK UNDER OTHER CONTRACTS

Addenda:
If necessary, an Addendum will be issued on or before Monday, November 20, 2023.
