Description:
1. CONTRACT FOR MECHANICAL CONSTRUCTION – PROJECT DELINEATION.  The scope of the work of the different projects within this bid are as follows.  Refer to Architectural Drawing A1.0, “General Notes and Schedules” for a delineation of the areas included within each project referenced below:

a. LHS-03, 1C.)  LHS South Cafeteria, New RTU serving South Cafeteria, R-22 Phase Out
1. Removal of existing rooftop AHUs and existing ductwork above the roof line.  The existing steel dunnage shall remain, and shall be modified / restored as required to accommodate the mechanical systems proposed.  Damage resulting from the removal of the existing RTU shall be repaired, and the existing steel recoated with a cold galvanizing compound.
2. Provide (1) new DX Cooling / Natural Gas Heating RTU.
3. Existing ductwork on roof and in the space will be modified / replaced as indicated within the contract documents, and as required to accommodate the new RTU, and to complete final connections.
4. Equipment will be integrated into the BMS by the Owner’s integration Contractor (AME Inc.).
5. BACnet compatible controllers to be factory mounted, Integration to be performed by AME.

b. LHS-07, 2C.)  New RTU’s in Gymnasium G101 and Trainers room G101
1. Removal of RTU-12 and RTU-13 and associated equipment and accessories not indicated to remain.
2. Provide (2) new RTU’s with units that have HW coils in reheat position.
3. Existing 8” chilled water mains in the corridor outside the gymnasium will be extended to serve the new RTUs (RTU-12 and RTU-13).
4. Existing ductwork in space will be modified / replaced as indicated within the contract documents, and as required to accommodate the new RTU, and to complete final connections.
5. New coil pipe packages and freeze protection pumps will be included as part of the new work.
6. Modification of the Fitness Center RTU (RTU-2) as required to separate this unit from the Trainers Room.  Duct work will be modified as required to redistribute throughout the Fitness Center.
7. Provide a new HW/CHW Fan Coil Unit for the Trainer’s Room with an OA connection up to the roof.  Ductwork will be modified, and new air devices provided as indicated.
8. Provide new thermostat and humidistat for the Trainer’s Room
9. Equipment will be integrated into the BMS by the Owner’s integration Contractor (AME Inc.).
10. BACnet compatible controllers to be factory mounted, Integration to be performed by AME.

c. LHS-11, 2G.)  New RTU in NG9 & 10 Wrestling and Weight Rooms
1. Removal of suspended AHU‘s and associated equipment, including all associated pumps, piping and accessories not indicated to remain. 
2. Removal of existing grade mounted RTU and associated ductwork.
3. Removal of ceiling fans from the spaces included in this scope of work
4. Existing 6” chilled water mains in the corridor shall be extended to new RTUs.  The scope of the work shall include new coil pipe packages and freeze protection pumps.
5. New coil pipe packages and freeze protection pumps will be included as part of the new work.
6. Provide new RTU’s, with new ductwork as required and shown to condition the space.
7. Extend existing HW pipes within the space to new RTU’s.
8. Equipment will be integrated into the BMS by the Owner’s integration Contractor (AME Inc.).
9. BACnet compatible controllers to be factory mounted, Integration to be performed by AME

d. LHS-12, 2H.)  New RTU’s in NG01 North Gymnasium
1. Removal of suspended AHU’s and associated equipment, including all associated pumps, piping and accessories not indicated to remain.
2. Removal of (4) existing skylights as required to accommodate new duct drops from the proposed RTU’s.
3. Abatement of existing asbestos containing materials.
4. Existing 6” chilled water mains in the corridor shall be extended to new RTUs.  The scope of the work shall include new coil pipe packages and freeze protection pumps.
5. New coil pipe packages and freeze protection pumps will be included as part of the new work.
6. Provide (4) new RTU’s, with new ductwork as required and shown to condition the space.
7. Extend existing HW pipes within the crawlspace to new RTU’s.
8. Equipment will be integrated into the BMS by the Owner’s integration Contractor (AME Inc.).
9. BACnet compatible controllers to be factory mounted, Integration to be performed by AME


2. CONTRACT FOR MECHANICAL CONSTRUCTION – GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
a. General Coordination responsibilities including the following:
1) Coordination of the work with other prime Contractors active on the project site.  Other Contractors shall act in accordance with the schedule dictated by the Owner, and shall coordinate all construction activities through the General Contractor and Owner, as agreed and accepted by the Owner and Architect.
b. Selective demolition responsibilities included within the scope of the project shall include the following:
1) Removal of wall mounted equipment and furnishings as designated and required to complete the scope of the proposed work
2) Repair, patching and preparation of existing ceiling construction as required to accommodate the proposed construction, and as required to accept the specified finishes.
3) Removal and relocation of existing electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems indicated and required for the performance of the proposed work.
c. Supply and installation of steel roof frames and supports as required to accommodate the proposed mechanical construction.  Note that the conditions vary at each area, and are to be field verified.
d. Removal and restoration of acoustical panel ceiling systems, including coordination and sequencing of the work with the owner and other contractors.
e. Patching of building finishes damaged or altered as a result of the work of this contract
f. Patching and repair of roofing finishes.  The contractor is advised that roof areas impacted by the work of this contract are under warranty.  Repairs and alterations to these roof systems must be performed in strict conformation with the written requirements of the roofing system manufacturer, and performed by a roofing contractor pre-qualified by the roofing system manufacturer.

Bids must be enclosed in a sealed envelope bearing the name of the Bidder and the Work being bid including Project No. 8195/1-024-21/REF21-09-8195 on the outside lower right-hand corner of the envelope.

BID OPENING DATE:  Sealed bids will be received by the Lenape Regional High School District Board of Education, 93 Willow Grove Road, Shamong, NJ 08088; Attention:  Ms. Constance L. Stewart, Business Administrator/ Board Secretary on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at 2:00 PM.  Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud immediately thereafter in the School District’s Conference Room.
PRE-BID CONFERENCE:  A pre-bid meeting will be held at Lenape High School – 235 Hartford Road, Medford, NJ 08055, on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at 10:00am.  ALL participants are required to sign-in at the Main Office.  A walk-through of the School will take place following the Pre-Bid Conference. Bidders are strongly urged to attend.

The Bidder, or its sub-contractors, shall be classified by the State of New Jersey – Division of Property Management and Construction in one of the following classifications:

The Bidder, and any sub-contractor classified under the above categories must present evidence INCLUDED WITHIN THEIR FORM OF BID, of their pre-qualifications, including current Division of Property Management and Construction (DPMC) Copy of “Notice of Classification”, Current DPMC Copy of “Total Amount of Uncompleted Contracts” and Business Registration Certificate.

Bidding shall be in conformance with the applicable requirements of NJSA 18A:18A-1 et. seq., the Public School Contracts Law.

When it is its best interest to do so and to the maximum extent of its discretion under applicable law, the Lenape Regional High School District Board of Education may award the Contract in whole or in part, select any combination of bids and alternates, may waive informalities, and may reject any or all bids:
